Django
Bert Django is a Las Vegas native guitarist, singer and songwriter who has been performing for over 20 years. He sees himself as part of the new wave of contemporary blues artists, in the same breath as Jared James Nichols, Gary Clark Jr. and Marcus King.
Growing up, the three-piece band was always his favorite: Jimi Hendrix, Cream, and later Jared James Nichols. Black Sabbath is one of his biggest inspirations. That love of the power trio shapes how he plays today. He likes a stripped-down, almost naked sound where you can hear every instrument, and he believes nothing sounds better than a guitar going straight into a Marshall amp.
Bert studied at the Musicians Institute, where he learned from legendary instructors Dale Turner and Keith Wyatt.
On Stage
Bert is known for high-energy, family-friendly shows that mix original music with classic rock covers and timeless oldies. He performs solo with his own sound setup, playing blues, classic rock and gypsy jazz, plus Christmas songs during the holidays. With his three-piece band, he plays mostly classic rock covers with an original thrown in now and then.
In Las Vegas, Bert built his name as a guitar for hire, playing behind some great artists.
Original Music
His singles include Explode, Getting Stronger and Jungle Jam, all on Spotify. He calls "Getting Stronger" one of the best recordings he has made so far: a gritty hard rock song with a vintage flair, in the spirit of Cream and Black Sabbath.
Teaching
Through the Bert Django Guitar Academy, Bert teaches students of all ages and levels, in person in Las Vegas or online, covering blues, rock, metal, fingerpicking and gypsy jazz.
